Primus remember the missing in 'Jilly's on Smack' – premiere

San Francisco rockers Primus remember the missing in the new video for "Jilly's on Smack," a song from this year's Green Naugahyde inspired by a friend of the band's who "disappeared into the world of heroin," singer Les Claypool says.

Directed by Jordan Copeland (son of Police drummer Stewart Copeland), the clip sports a fittingly eerie vibe as it siwtches between shots of the band playing live and grainy found footage of family life, with a holiday theme. "Oftentimes it is the parents grandparents, siblings, etc., that feel the brunt of the heartache as they look at that empty dinner chair or Christmas stocking," Claypool says.

Dean Ween and Les Claypool are teaming up for some reality fishing show


According to NJ.com, Deaner (real name Mickey Melchiondo) will be shooting a pilot for a ‘quirky’ show that will mix his love of fishing with music and comedy. The show will feature Melchiondo and Claypool as they head out each week and fish in exotic locations with a special celebrity guest.

The show will be produced by South Park masterminds Matt Parker and Trey Stone and Melchiondo shares that the goal is to get the program on after Anthony Bourdain: No Reservationsor Tosh .O. The former Ween guitarist claims that the show is “…a fishing show that you do not have to be into fishing to enjoy.” The plan is for him and Claypool to create the soundtrack for the show as well.

No word as to when this show will actually make it on the air, but we will keep you updated. In the event you want to catch Les Claypool in the not so distant future, he will tour the west coast with his Duo De Twang outfit later this year. If you would like to go fishing with Dean Ween later this year, he is once again taking reservations for later this year.

Может баян, но но я выкопал это дело только вчера и на форуме вроде оно не упоминалось. Тему отдельную делать лень.

Вынес меня ютуб после того, как я там две недели King Crimson гонял, на группу The Claypool Lennon Delirium , которая как позже выяснилось состоит из собственно Клэйпула и Шона Леннона и которая этот самый Кримсон каверила. Вот только Клэйпула на фото/видео я видел в последний раз образца года примерно 2000 и я его совершенно не узнал, как и Леннона-младшего в бороде. Короче, я подумал, что это какие-то хипстеры решили всем составом нарядиться в разные ипостаси Джона Леннона (клавишник - и внезапно это Мани Марк, клавишник Beastie Boys - тоже похож) и играть психоделик-рок по 60м. :stupid: В принципе не так уж и ошибся, ну кроме "каких-то" .

В общем, есть записанный альбом неимоверной годности, немного даже неожиданно, если честно; все-таки Клэйпул - Клэйпулом, но Шон Леннон ранее ни в чем особо полезном мною замечен не был, гостевые появления не в счет.
На ассоциативном уровне - наверное так мог бы звучать Сид Баррет сольно, если бы у него крыша не поехала до конца или Pink Floyd, если бы вместо Гилмора и Уотерса в составе оказались бы Фрипп и Лейк.

“Many years ago when my children were little kidlets scurrying around the place wreaking havoc and whatnot till it was time for bed and book time, my wife turned them on to a book called “The Rainbow Goblins” by Ul De Rico,” Claypool explained.

“The dark imagery and beauty of the art struck me immediately and I thought, ‘this would make good fodder for a piece of music.’ The use of color and darkness both in the paintings and the writing was compelling and now, near two decades later, the metaphor of greed, gluttony and deceit vs unity of the masses is eerily relevant. I brought the notion to the Primus guys and they were all for it. Plus, I figured it's about time someone brought ‘Goblin Rock’ back to the fold.” -- Les Claypool

Такой кингкримзон. Столько новых релизов и один просто охуительнее другого.
 
А тем временем Леннона-младший и Клэйпул выпустили великолепный второй альбом своей совместной группы. :up::hare:
Надо уже наверное тему отдельную делать, но мне все еще лень.

Nextdoorscream, я тут только что обнаружил, что оказывается есть тема про Клэйпула и его сайд-проекты - Les Claypool. Так что можно посты с альбомами туда продублировать и, если группа не загнется, последующие релизы туда засылать.
